Mary Esther Onyango  (Grade: 3)

Mary Esther is a very bright girl. She can read which is very uncommon for kids that attend public school in her area. Often in public schools the teachers do not always come to school to teach. Many of them fall behind and drop out eventually. Her mother weeds for farmers to buy food for her children, but cannot afford to send her daughter to a good school.
