Alice Anyango Obondo, age eight, is in 3rd grade and is the third-born among six children. The father is a pastor while the mother is a peasant farmer. They also take care of four orphans, making it very hard to raise enough money to assist all of them. After clothing and feeding the family, there is no money left for education.
Jerry Davis Omondi is ten and in grade 3. He is a partial orphan living with his mother who also looks after six more kids. His mother sells vegetables to make some money so they can eat. Jerry would love to be a teacher but that is an impossible dream without a sponsor.
Ashley Merex Onyango is nine and in grade 4. She is the firstborn of three children. Because both parents work, Ashley has to stay home and watch the babies. Sponsorship would enable the parents to find help to watch the little ones so that Ashley can attend school and escape the cycle of poverty.
Jared’s parents are extremely poor and try to grow some food to survive. Because they never had the opportunity to go to school they have no opportunity to earn enough to put Jared in school.
Barrack was all but abandoned by his father just before he died. His mother earns some money by washing other peoples clothes and she takes care of three other children besides her own.
Randy has five brothers and sisters. When his mother was giving birth to twins she experienced great difficulty and suffered lasting damage to her back preventing her from returning to work. His father tries to make ends meet by working in a store when needed.
