Wendy is five, and in the baby class. Her father died and her 80-year-old grandmother is caring for her. The mother has five children and works on farms to earn $1 a day to feed her family.
Teddy is eleven and in class 5. He lives with his mother, who is divorced and has no job or income. They are being supported by friends and relatives. Teddy loves to play football (soccer).
Javan is nine-years-old, a student in third grade. After a very long illness, his father died. His mother sells tomatoes on the roadside to earn a living. Javan would like to be a pilot when he is grown.
Austineís parents care for a large family on the fatherís income as a casual laborer. Austine has four siblings, and his parents care for three of his motherís younger siblings after the death of his grandparents. Austine, who is ten-years-old and a third grader, needs a sponsorship in order to attend Joy School.
Ten-year-old Byron is in grade 3. He lives with his mother who sells farm produce to survive. Byronís father lives and works in Nairobi, unable to find anything more than a low-paying job. His parents cannot afford a good education for Byron and we request assistance with his school fees.
