Equipping a Classroom!
Derek is in Kenya! Textbooks have been purchased and classrooms are being painted. It’s a very exciting time. We only need $500 more to finish painting all the classrooms! Won’t you help up achieve this goal before Derek returns to New York?

Our Previous Trip to Kenya
Last year, Hope for Kenya sent 4 people to Ndhiwa to be a part of the work already in progress there. Derek worked closely with Peter Midodo in Kenya to plan for future progress and to learn how we can best assist the Kenyans in acheiving their goals for the region. Philip took video and photographs that will be used to raise awareness of the situation in Kenya and gain support for Kenya on a wider level. MaryJane and Kristen used their extensive experience as educators to come along side the teachers in Kenya and work in the classrooms.

Our additional goal for the trip was to construct more desks and bring more tools to Kenya with us. We left tools behind for local carpenters to use, just as we did the pervious year. A desk that sits three students costs only $75 to build. These desks are even used by area teachers as they attend teacher training sessions hosted by Peter Midodo and his incredible staff.

Teachers making great use of the desks we funded while participating in training at Joy Schools International.
Why We Are Committed to Kenya
Unclean water is responsible for a multitude of disease, poverty and death in Kenya. Hope for Kenya is building a water tower in Ndhiwa, Kenya to provide fresh, clean water to the village and for the more than 300 children on site.
By donating money to Hope for Kenya, you bring clean water to the people of Ndhiwa, education and a future to children, and give the gift of life.
The alternative is dirty, contaminated water shared with the animals. Please donate now to help these children!
